Glycerine
Glycerine, also known as glycerol, is a natural compound resulting from vegetable oils or animal fats. It’s clear, colorless and odorless with a sweet taste.
In skincare it is primarily used to trap the moisture it draws into the skin. Glycerine is also classified as a sugar alcohol and used in production of food items.
Used in: moisturizer, cosmetics, lubricants as well as in the production of plastics, low-fat frozen yogurt, ice cream and other desserts.
